Who is Betty George? Some say that this small dynamo is a cross between Wonder Women and Auntie Mame. Betty has always stepped forward and taken on the responsibility of leadership. It began when she was a young homemaker and was asked to be President of the Fern Creek Garden Club. She went on to lead within her church and later her Association of Realtors, serving as President in 1996. Her other positions included President of Women’s Council of Realtors, GACRS State President in 1997 and other volunteer positions such as Captain of her local tennis team. Betty is an original Oak Grove resident. Her family moved to this area in 1958 when Oak Grove Elementary was a new school. After her college years at Mercer U in Macon, Betty married and with her husband, Billy George, raised 3 children who all now live in the Atlanta area. Her children and her 7 grandchildren are truly her pride and joy. Betty finished college in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in Business from University of Phoenix. Her whole family came to see her receive her degree and celebrate with her. Betty has always been a team player. She learned the excitement of success as a swimmer on a relay team. Her team broke the state record for senior girls and Betty has continued winning awards ever since. She has achieved the Active Life Phoenix award and for many years was awarded membership in Dekalb’s Million Dollar Club. The Dekalb Association awarded Betty with The Mary Nelson Realtor Spirit Award. This is a very special award given to honor a Realtor who has given of themselves to the work of
the Association and their fellow Realtors. When Betty is not selling real estate, she enjoys working in her yard, playing tennis, and cooking-especially Italian food. She makes delicious Eggplant Parmesan or an Anti-Pasta Platter to “die for”. She is a volunteer cook every Thursday afternoon. In June of 2017, Betty joined the Marshall Berch Team at Palmer House Property and she is excited to be working with Dekalb’s most talented Realtors. This team won of the Best Real Estate Team of Dekalb Award in 2016. Betty has found her real estate home. What keeps this active lady moving toward new goals? She enjoys helping families find their dream home, or sell an existing home to make a move possible. Betty has been a Realtor since 1978, and can go the extra mile to make your move as seamless as possible. Please give her a call.
